Description: Elementary Spanish 1 is intended to teach you how to communicate in Spanish, with special emphasis in listening and speaking. The Spanish-speaking population in this country is growing quickly, making this an exciting time to be involved in learning and improving your Spanish. You will listen to a CD-ROM in order to learn the correct pronunciations of words in Spanish, and complete exercises in the Laboratory Manual to check your understanding of the language. You will also be asked to submit sound files with certain lessons, where you will record yourself reading some passages. Last but not least, you will complete exercises in each lesson to practice vocabulary and grammar.
Special Instructions: Note: The Listening Comprehesion Audio CD to Accompany Puntos de Partida, 6th Edition, which comes with the textbook, is required, as is the Student Audio CD Program to Accompany Puntos de Partida, 6th Edition (Part I), which comes as a spiral-bound booklet of 10 audio CDs.Students with no high school units in Spanish should take Spanish 1100.
Students with one high school unit in Spanish may take Spanish 1100 or 1200.
Students with two high school units in Spanish should take Spanish 1200.
